I don't know if I've posted about the OS trouble we've been having, but to sum up, our Acer system recovery never worked properly on our system (the one I use to do ALL my graphic stuff) and we were having a hell of a time getting any sort of help from Acer at all in regards to recovery media. I'd used the email support to request restore disks (we didn't feel is was exactly fair to have to pay for new recovery media when it was clear that the restore software hadn't installed properly on the machine at the factory in the first place) and recieved only form emails telling me how to run automated recovery (which I'd already stated was completely non functional). Quite frustrating.

In the end we gave in and ordered the disks, but the fee was never charged to the credit card. I'd taken this to mean that the web form was pretty much not monitored or didn't acutally work or something, and that there would be no disks. Imagine how surprised we were when we got not just one but 2 sets of recovery media in a single package out of the blue the other day.

Anyhoo, I've done the reinstall and everythings back. We'd been running Windows 7 beta (it was the only thing that would install) in the interrim so I've been without all my nice skinning apps for a while. Windows 7 is really really good and all, and the RC is coming in May so I really could have just left it be and waited, but I missed the ability to skin the interface (the current Windows 7 skins are atm just tweaks of aero, nothing radically different yet) and I always had a hard time getting it to recognize a couple of my devices.

What's surprised me the most is that I don't really miss all the nice new features of 7 that much. Not yet anyway. I guess I'm so used to working with multiple OS's that I adjust pretty easily now.

Also, after having the flu multiple times over the last two months, I'm finally starting to feel well again. I've been breathing easily through my nose ALL DAY! :boogie: I still have to take an acetaminophen with codeine once in a while for a bit of left over sinus pain, but that's no big deal. I think the left over infection is finally on the retreat. It's still a bit active in my ears, but that sometimes happens to me with humidity and rainyness and stuff anyway.

So yays! Hopefully this means I'll have lost more stuff to post soon.
